Is there a way to detect the server authentication protocol supported so it is known what ServerAuthType to set the connection to? Or is this something that needs to be determined ahead of time before the program is run?

EAGetMail doesn't implement detecting authentication type automatically, so I suggest that you use AuthLogin as default, almost 100% servers support it.
